Envy the rainbow.

4 Feb

It was winter and I was working at a small Auckland advertising agency alongside a pretty stellar crew of young creatives. Intent on pushing the owners to improve the quality of the agency’s creative output, we’d run seminars once a month to showcase the best work in the world. This was around the time of the Cadbury gorilla, Wonderbra 3D, The Economist hotels, and that sort of thing. It was a great season for advertising.

Even so, there was one campaign that stood out in my mind. The scenarios were simple, the product was the hero, and the whole campaign was completely ridiculous on every level. Best of all, it’s still going strong, with a new TVC added to the collection just this week. As far as I know, TBWA\Chiat\Day New York is the agency behind all of it.
