A moment of silence.

8 Feb

Let us now take a minute to mourn the passing of a truly dear friend. He was a funny old bastard, liked a drink and a joke. Every now and then he’d take himself a little too seriously, but then, don’t we all sometimes?

Here is a video of our sweet friend struggling for his life in what would be his final moments.

Rest in peace, Advertising.

    And I raise you : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZTF0_aBGUQ

Much better on the TV, but the over-pronunciation of “Auckland Glass” makes you mentally repeat it over and over as quickly as you can to see if there is some rude way of saying it! There must be some justification for it!

I love that you mentioned this. When I began ad school I used to cite this as my all-time favourite ad (mostly to incite rage in others). It has to be one of the most effective ads ever created, but totally devoid of any creative spark. It’s simultaneously best and worst practice, and for that I adore it.
