Be the funny bully.

If the earnest route seems at odds with your brand, you might as well take your irreverence to the next level.

Try calling out the over-earnest brands. That way you can be like the funny bully at school – the one everybody finds hilarious until about 15 years later, when the crippling performance anxiety grabs you around the throat mid-presentation, and you begin to wonder if all that emotional prodding in your weaker years may actually have taken some toll on your self-esteem.

It doesn’t matter. That guy got through school without being challenged on his behaviour. And he’s probably going to be CEO of that company in about 5 years time. I guess that means he got away with it. You can too.
